Radio Ondas was founded by Mr Enrique López Roque on 1986 under the name Radio Ondas CB.
The main core business for more than fifteen years was the fishery market and ferries calling Algeciras port. Eventually, it had offices at Barbate and Tarifa ports mainly focused on the mentioned fishery market.
We reach to the point, after 2.007, that fishery market was almost disappeared and having not much jobs opportunities, with the economic crisis forcing businesses to shut, when Mr Enrique López Roque’s sons, Mr Enrique López Duarte and Mr Francisco López Duarte enrolled themselves on a new adventure with their father’s company.
The first days of the company, now owned and managed by Mr Lopez Roque’s sons, were to try keeping the main business alive but they changed the company profile to a Limited Company.
Since then, called Radio Ondas Servicios Marítimos S.L. (ROSM).
After the rebranding of the company and VAT number change, always maintaining its first name, Radio Ondas and its logo, we were focused on promoting repairs and services abroad main national ports, increasing the attending areas as well as expanding the business.
Shortly after, we enrolled a cooperative relationship with main tugs national companies as well as barge boats company (Boluda Tankers) with a strong maker background support as was Furuno Spain, which already was cooperating with Radio Ondas CB since the very first days.
With the successful start of the renewed company, they new board decided to go the extra mile on 2.010 and got the company registered as a M-1 certified company for Marine Merchant Spanish Authority and getting certification for main class societies, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, NKK and Rina.
Further to the already obtained benchmarks, and for the sake of the growth on the right path, we proceeded to get the ISO-9001 certification and shortly after also got ISO-14001 certificate.
As they company continued to have more jobs and services requests all around Spain, we decided to open new offices at Barcelona, Bilbao, Cádiz, Huelva, Valencia, Vigo and Canary Islands, helping us to increase the invoicing volume on yearly basis.
In accordance with our strong and consistent growth, having close relationships with main Spanish Shipowners and with our top-quality company policy we started gaining main makers distribution agreements and dealerships as Furuno, Danelec, Interschalt MacGregor, JRC, Kelvin Hughes, Intellian, Jotron, Highlander Beijing Technologies, JRC, Wärtsila, Sal Navigation, Samsung, E2V… making our company even more powerful to continue with its growth.
Nowadays, Radio Ondas Servicios Marítimos S.L. (ROSM Group) has under Complete Shore Based Maintenance more than 80 vessels, closely and carefully maintaining the entire Baleària, Trasmed (Grimaldi Group), FRS and Transmediterranea fleet plus 500+ under Shore Based Maintenance around the world.
